Anxiety counseling in Ormond Beach

For the worry that keeps you up at night and runs your day. Practical tools, in person in Ormond Beach or online anywhere in Florida.

What anxiety counseling looks like here

Anxiety is one of the most common reasons people come to see me. It can show up as racing thoughts, poor sleep, a tight chest, snapping at the people you love, or quietly avoiding things you used to do without thinking.

I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills and mindfulness. In plain terms, we look at the thoughts that keep the worry going, practice skills for getting through the hard moments, and build habits that calm the whole system down. The focus is on healthy coping you can use between sessions, not just talking about the week.

What to expect

The first session is about getting comfortable and getting the background: what the anxiety looks like for you, when it started and what you’ve already tried. From there we set a couple of concrete goals. Sessions are 50 minutes, usually weekly or every other week.

You get room to vent without judgment. You’ll also get honest feedback, and sometimes a push, when it will help.

When anxiety comes with something else

Anxiety often travels with depression, drinking, relationship strain or burnout. I work with all of those, so we can deal with what’s actually going on rather than one piece of it.

This might be you if

  • Your mind won’t slow down, especially at night
  • You overthink conversations long after they end
  • You avoid things you used to handle without a second thought
  • You want practical tools, not just a place to talk

FAQ

Common questions

How long does anxiety counseling take?

It depends on what’s going on and what you want to change. Most people start weekly and move to every other week as things improve. We look at progress together as we go.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. I’m a counselor, not a prescriber. If medication might help, talk with your doctor or a psychiatrist; counseling and medication often work well together.

Can I do this online?

Yes. Sessions are available by secure video anywhere in Florida, or in person at the office at 785 W Granada Blvd in Ormond Beach.

Ready when you are.

A short call to see whether we’re a good fit. Call, text or email, whichever is easiest.
